PROMOTING THE GAME OF CRICKET

Spreading the Game of Cricket in Italy is not an easy and quick task, but one I really enjoy and get lot of satisfaction from. There is so much joy in having the "privilage" to teach and show the fantastic game of Cricket to kids who have never heard or seen the game.. After a half hour you just need to look at the smiles on their faces, learing and loving a new game..

Cricket in Italy is not yet popular and I want to help the game grow. Obviuosly one of the main drives for making this website was excatly that, helping cricketers find a Club to play for in Italy! But my spreading of the Game only starts here! I want Italians lo find out about the game, get a chance to even only find there local club and ask info. Today is hard for them to find Club, and often may even think Cricketis played with a tapeball, most don't even know the game of Cricket is officialy played here under CONI and ICC!

I've had a great time in my first 15 years of experience as a Cricket Coach tring to expand the game of Cricket in Italy.

I know kids love to game of Cricket, an massive lack of Cricket grounds and structure prevents the game from growing much quicker, but then its more of an economical/political issue which takes time to improve.

As a coahc I started from the realtive easy Junior Club level, then to getting into Italian State School with kids having no idea on what Cricket is, up to becoming an ICC Tutor and leading courses for Italian P.E. teacher what cricket is and how to get there students playing safely Kwik Cricket! Add coaching thousands of kids at the Italian CONI events I have a pretty good experience of spreaing the game of Cricket in Italy. I'm fully qualified ECB Coach having untaken the ECB Level III course in 2013. I must say a massive thank you to my father Francis Alfonso Jayarajah, a pioneer of the Cricket in Italy (Italy's first natonal team Captain), Max Da Costa, the Italian Cricket Federation for sending me on coaching courses and beliving in potential, Richard O'Sullivan, Doug Ferguson and Joe Scuderi my first cricket coaches who all had a massive impact on Italian Cricket.

In this section which will grow over this (I hope!) I will giving tips and how to create, organize & run Cricket related events and project to promote the game for you Club, City, School etc!

Please don't hesitate to ask for my advice!
