The Italian Junior National team is the selection of the best Under 17 Cricket players in Italy (who fall under the age limit!). The team participates in the first stage of the qualifications for the ICC Under 19 World Cup which are held every 2 years. The competion at its first stage involves European teams, and the winning team goes through to the Under 19 World Cup Qualifiers the following summer which is reserved for Under 18's. If the National team wins even this tournament they go through and get to the ICC Under 19 World Cup against the Test Countries, so two years after the Under 17 tournament the same group of players becomes Under 19 and gets to play the World Cup!

Italy has won in 2009 the European Under 15 Division B Championship held in Bologna, Italy.
